Červený Jelen

Marek Fichtner
The Červený Jelen restaurant was established in 2019 in the premises of the former Anglo-Czechoslovak Bank, designed by the famous architect Josef Gočár. Today, it is part of the Baroque Špork Palace and is one of the largest gastronomic projects in Prague. The character of the place is underlined by original architectural elements by Stanislav Fiala and sculptures of red deer by Michal Gabriel, which refer to the hunting passion of the original owner, Count Špork.
The restaurant itself is spread over four floors. On the top floor there are historical lounges, one floor below is the Banka space with the iconic beer tower and the monumental Infierno grill. Even lower down you will find the Špork Vault designed for exclusive events and the Klubovna, which is suitable for concerts, lectures and company parties. In the summer, the outdoor garden also comes alive, where the Jelení léto festival takes place with aperitifs and live music.
Červený Jelen offers modern cuisine in a creative and fresh concept. The menu regularly features seasonal specialties and staples, led by steaks, which the grillmaster prepares on the Infierno American grill, heated with oak and beech wood from the Křivoklát forests.
Another exceptional attraction is the beer cake from pastry chef Klára Řezníčková or the perfectly treated Pilsner beer, which flows from a unique three-story tank tower into four taps led by the legendary bartender Míra “Pantáta” Nekolný.
Chef Marek Fichtner, one of the most respected Czech chefs, is behind the kitchen. He began his career in his native Adršpach, from where he gradually worked his way up to five-star cruise ships and luxury hotels around the world. In Saudi Arabia, he prepared banquets for the king himself, in Copenhagen he completed an internship at the famous Noma, and in the Czech Republic he also became known for his role as a judge in the MasterChef competition. In 2022, he won the Golden Chef poll and today holds the position of president of the Bocuse d’Or Czech. In 2025, he published his first author’s cookbook, Seasoned with Life.
Marek Fichtner is a chef who combines honest craftsmanship with creativity and experience from all over the world. At Červený Jelen, he has given the kitchen a modern touch that honors tradition while surprising guests with new combinations of flavors.
Červený Jelen is more than a restaurant – it is a lively gastronomic house where history meets modern cuisine and where every detail, from architecture to service, contributes to an unforgettable experience.
