Arthur’s Pub

Michal Bučkó
Arthur’s Pub is a place where the love of Ireland, Scotland and its culture meets Prague’s Karlín. The stylish interior with an emphasis on detail, a spacious garden under mature chestnuts and an intimate Guinness lounge give guests the opportunity to choose the atmosphere according to their mood.
This year, there has been a significant change in the kitchen – the chef’s scepter has been taken over by Michal Bučkó, who previously worked as a sous-chef alongside Michal Musial. Thanks to this, he knows the philosophy of the company well and follows it smoothly, but at the same time he also brings his own unique style and new ideas. His journey into cooking began at the age of 13, when he helped his grandmother at a children’s camp. It was she who taught him love and humility for ingredients – and he carries these values with him to this day. He trained as a cook-waiter in Jindřichův Hradec, where he also passed his high school diploma, and he is constantly gaining experience, because, as he himself says, “we learn all our lives”. From the domestic scene, he most fondly remembers his time at the Salabka restaurant under the leadership of Petr Kunce, who gave him valuable experience and inspiration.
For Michal Bučkó, teamwork is the most important thing when cooking. According to him, each plate must receive full attention, because for him, food is a way to convey joy, honesty and respect to guests. His credo is: humility towards ingredients, respect for people and passion for the craft.
Behind the fact that Arthur’s Pub not only functions flawlessly, but also constantly develops and moves forward, is the operations manager Jakub Kočí. His ability to give direction to the company, pay attention to the quality of service and the development of the entire team is key to the restaurant. At the same time, he is an excellent connoisseur of wines, especially champagne, and thanks to this he is able to offer guests a harmonious combination of food and drinks, which elevates the visit to an exceptional experience.
The Arthur’s Pub menu changes regularly. In the summer, guests will appreciate grilled specialties in the garden, and all year round, a modern take on the classics with an emphasis on purity of taste and heartiness. “The food must not only look good, but also please and fill you up,” says Bučkó, who tries to transfer his energy and enthusiasm to the team in the kitchen.
But the experience here is not just about the food. The bar is the center of the establishment and is one of the biggest attractions – from draft beer, to a refined wine list, to cocktails and selected whiskey. Drinks are an equal part of the menu, not just an addition.
Arthur’s Pub is a place where people go not only for dinner, but also for the atmosphere. Whether you stop by with friends or alone, you will always find a relaxed environment, honest ingredients and a personal approach.
