Borgo Agnese

Roman Němec
The Borgo Agnese restaurant can be found in Brno in a historically significant location on Kopečná Street. The airiness and lightness of the tastefully decorated space are enhanced by the glass wall and roof of the atrium, and in the summer there is also a beautiful outdoor terrace. A practical bonus is the garage parking directly under the building, which saves you from worrying about parking.
The cuisine's specialties are based on Mediterranean traditions, especially French and Italian. Guests can choose from a fixed menu or multi-course tasting menus, which are sensitively paired with wines. The wine list with a respectable number of more than 850 items offers wines from the most important wine regions as well as limited vintage collections from the restaurant's wine archive.
Borgo Agnese is not just about dining. A team of professionals can bring the experience to your home - whether it's cooking in your kitchen, a picnic in nature or a guided tasting with a sommelier. Guests can also purchase selected ingredients in the Borgo shop and unleash their own culinary imagination.
The restaurant's co-owner Michal Prachař (pictured on the previous page) says: "I love Italian cuisine and I believe that it shows in every dish we serve. The basis is fresh and high-quality ingredients, which we complement with professional service and an environment in which the guest feels like they are on vacation. Our goal is for guests to come back to us."
Behind the kitchen of Borgo Agnese are a pair of chefs, Roman Němec and Lukáš Greguš. Roman has been part of the team since the restaurant's inception, that is, for eighteen years. He comes from a family where people cooked well, and his first inspiration was his great-grandmother's cooking. He admits that his path to professional cooking was not easy, but thanks to patient mentors he got the chance to really learn the craft. Lukáš has been working at Borgo Agnese for nine years. He was led to cooking by his interest in culture and inspiration from Jamie Oliver, whose cuisine he eventually tried out in one of Jamie's restaurants. He turned his first culinary experiments into a journey that allowed him to discover various techniques and ingredients from all over the world. He brought enthusiasm, humility and a desire to do gastronomy as both a job and a hobby to Borgo Agnese. Thus, in 2025, Borgo Agnese remains a fixture of the Brno scene, combining top-notch gastronomy, a unique environment and the personal approach of the people who create it.
