Casa De Carli is a family restaurant where you will feel at home and yet exceptional. A unique atmosphere, great food, excellent wine, attentive staff and elegant interior design - these are the main "bests" that describe this established establishment in the Old Town.
The restaurant welcomes guests with a luxurious and tasteful space. The main area is dominated by a high, light-filled ceiling, golden walls and curtains complementing large windows that let in plenty of daylight. Comfortable dark blue armchairs and black tables underline the overall impression of elegance and coziness.
The uniqueness of the interior is underlined by the open kitchen, where guests can watch the chef and his team at work. The chef himself is the owner Matteo De Carli, an Italian from Varese who gained experience in prestigious restaurants around the world before finally settling in Prague.
The menu includes classic Italian dishes as well as innovative interpretations, daily specials and tasting menus. The dishes are created according to seasonal ingredients and the chef's vision - pasta, risotto, fish and meat all find their place here.
In the basement there is a lounge with a massive table and three wine cellars reaching up to the ceiling, where the best wines are stored. There is also a private lounge with an open kitchen, designed for cooking shows, and a hydroponic garden, where herbs and salads with intense taste and aroma are grown. In the summer, the outdoor front garden is also popular, from where you can watch the vibrant life of the Old Town.
Matteo De Carli, chef and owner: “I grew up in a typical Italian family, where we all cooked together every Sunday. These moments inspired me to decide to become a chef. I started cooking school at the age of fourteen and wanted not only to cook, but also to travel and see the world. I gained my first experience in Italy, then in Geneva, Dublin and Dubai, and finally in New York at the Michelin restaurant Cipriani. I see the greatest benefit in the fact that my team and I put passion and effort into our work every day. Behind every satisfied guest is a lot of work, but this is what fills us with joy.” The Casa De Carli restaurant opened in July 2012 and has since become synonymous with honest Italian cuisine in a modern sense. Matteo De Carli and his team prove that true happiness is born where people cook with passion and take care of their guests with love. And the last interesting thing - homemade production is a matter of course, from breads and pasta to the plates on which the ordered dishes are served to the guests.
