Coda

Igor Chramec

The Coda restaurant is part of the Aria music hotel, located in close proximity to the Lesser Town Church of St. Nicholas. The very name “Coda”, indicating the final part of a musical composition, suggests that this is a place where gastronomy is connected with art.
The interior was designed by Italian architects Rocco Magnoli and Lorenzo Carmellini, known for their collaboration with Gianni Versace. The restaurant is literally a gallery – it is decorated with works by Dali, Chagall, Kodet, Myslbek and Picasso. Caricatures of musical greats by Josef Blecha appear directly on Rosenthal porcelain, and the artistic spirit is evident in every detail.
One of the biggest attractions is the roof terrace with a panoramic view of Prague Castle and the historical center. Sitting here with good food and wine is a true symphony for all the senses.
The cuisine focuses on a modern European menu complemented by elements of Czech classics. Guests appreciate freshness, creativity and working with local ingredients. The dishes are thought out in detail and presented with an elegance that underlines the uniqueness of the place.
The chef Igor Chramec, who comes from Slovakia, is behind the kitchen. He has been close to gastronomy since childhood thanks to his father, who worked as an F&B manager. After studying at the Hotel Academy in Brezno, he went abroad – first to London, where he worked at the legendary restaurant St. John, and later to Sydney, where he worked at Sean’s Panaroma. It was there that he adopted the philosophy of respect for ingredients, minimal waste and teamwork.
Igor Chramec is a chef who builds on the balance of quality, honest craftsmanship, creativity and authenticity. He believes that food should not only please guests, but also sometimes surprise them with an unexpected combination of flavors or technologies. His motto is: “Presenting local ingredients in unexpected combinations and always with respect.”
Coda is more than a restaurant – it is a unique combination of gastronomy, art and music, offering guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of Malá Strana.
