Kogo Slovanský Dům

Jovo Savič
For more than twenty-four years, the Kogo Slovanský dům restaurant has been an integral part of the historic palace of the same name and is one of the mainstays of the Prague gastronomic scene. Just a few steps from the bustling center, it offers an oasis of peace with a spacious garden and a Mediterranean atmosphere.
At the beginning of the year, the restaurant underwent renovations, which brought a new, bright interior with elegant materials and a modern environment, while maintaining the character and quality that guests are accustomed to.
The menu is based on Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on fish and seafood. Guests can also enjoy fresh pasta, creamy risotto or traditional brick oven pizza. Specialties include raw langoustines in olive oil and orange juice, Catalan-style lobster or Rossini veal fillet with foie gras and truffles.
The restaurant has a capacity of 120 seats inside and another 90 in the garden with an area of more than 500 m2, which is spread out in the courtyard of the Slovanský dům. There is also a separate Wine Bar with a capacity of 75 seats inside and 90 outside - an ideal space for private and corporate events, intimate parties or informal gatherings.
Behind the kitchen is the chef and owner Jovo Savič, who got into cooking as a child thanks to joint family lunches and dinners. He was fascinated by how food brings people together and can bring joy. He gained his first comprehensive view of gastronomy at the hotel school. He started as a waiter, but gradually worked his way up to manager and finally chef.
He gained professional experience at home and abroad, especially in his native Sarajevo, which he remembers with fondness. In 2000, he co-founded Kogo in Havelská, where he fully devoted himself to professional cooking and laid the foundations of a concept that brings authentic Mediterranean cuisine to guests.
When cooking, he bases his focus on the quality and freshness of ingredients - fish and seafood must be perfectly fresh, vegetables and fruit must smell and have an ideal structure. Every detail is important: from preparation to serving to the atmosphere in the restaurant itself.
His motto is simple: to offer visitors only the best - honest Mediterranean cuisine, first-class service and an environment where the guest feels welcome and pampered.
Kogo Slovanský dům thus represents a harmony of flavors, quality and hospitality that has been appealing to guests for more than two decades.
