The Royal Restaurant is located on the first floor of the Královka Hotel, whose dominant feature is the stone lookout tower of the same name on the top of Nekras. It was built in 1907 and the current owners brought it back to life after a sensitive reconstruction in 2013. Today, it offers not only breathtaking views of the Jizera Mountains, the Giant Mountains and the Bohemian Paradise, but also a combination of history and modern comfort.
The atmosphere of Královka benefits from the surrounding nature and its beauty has been decided by the owners to preserve it for future generations. They used the original stone and old wood from the previous cottage, installed heat pumps, planted trees and took care of the cleanliness of the landscape. The whole concept connects a unique place with exclusive accommodation and top-notch gastronomy.
The kitchen is headed by chef Patrik Bečvář, a member of the National Team of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of the AKC ČR, who came to Královka from the French Restaurant in the Municipal House in Prague. He started cooking at the age of fourteen, when he was deciding between cooking and car mechanics. During his apprenticeship, he gained experience at the French Restaurant of the Municipal House, where, under the guidance of Jiří Král – the then captain of the national team of chefs – he realized that gastronomy is not just a job, but a journey that shapes life.
Later, Patrik completed internships in Italy and Australia and has been an active member of the national team of chefs and confectioners since 2012. Competitions abroad have brought him experience and inspiration from various gastronomic cultures. His culinary philosophy is based on respect for raw materials, non-wastefulness and honest work with local resources. In every meal, he wants to convey to his guests respect for nature, joy and energy that he himself puts into cooking.
His passion for fusion gastronomy is reflected on every plate – he combines honest Czech tradition with the ease of modern techniques and subtle Asian influences. Local ingredients from regional farmers play a crucial role, making the dishes authentic and fresh.
At the Royal Restaurant, it's not just about the food itself, but about the overall experience. Guests will be charmed by the cozy interior with wooden panels, panoramic views and the friendly approach of the staff. In summer, the terrace with a view attracts, in winter, the mountain atmosphere by the fireplace. The uniqueness of the place is complemented by a wine list with a careful selection of Czech and foreign wines.
"Come and try it!" invites the owner Tomáš Fotul. And indeed - the combination of top gastronomy, pure mountain nature and a personal approach makes the Royal Restaurant a destination that is not forgotten.
