In the historic center of the spa town of Teplice, nestled between the Bohemian Central Mountains and the Ore Mountains, is the Prince de Ligne hotel and restaurant. The luxury establishment offers guests not only comfortable accommodation in thirty-three stylishly furnished rooms and suites with a view of the Castle Square, but also a wide range of services - from a private sauna and conference rooms to catering and transport by the hotel fleet.
The restaurant itself, included in the Best Restaurants guide, is a popular place for spa guests, tourists and locals. Guests will find Czech and international cuisine prepared with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and pure flavors. An important part is also the wine list, which includes top wines from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Australia and New Zealand, supplemented by wines from the Johann W Třebívlice winery.
The restaurant's kitchen is run by Šárka Holanová and her colleague. Šárka came to cooking naturally – her parents sent her to a vocational school and she gradually discovered that working with food was the right path for her. She gained experience during her first internship at the restaurant Slávie, which taught her the basics of operation, then at the restaurant U Petra and finally in the restaurant team of the Prince de Ligne hotel, where she still works today.
Šárka Holanová focuses on simplicity and honesty – in her dishes, quality ingredients, pure taste and careful execution play the main role. Guests appreciate her ability to combine tradition with a modern concept and create dishes that are accessible but surprising at the same time. She herself says: “Don’t think about how to cook complicated dishes. Instead, focus on the ingredients and giving them space to stand out. In my opinion, that is the key to every good meal.”
