Tomáš Mrvík
SOHO restaurant is located in Prague's Podolí on the right bank of the Vltava River and has been a sought-after fine dining establishment for sixteen years. Its specialty is Euro-Asian fusion cuisine and popular Japanese sushi, which are served in an original interior with an unmistakable atmosphere. Not only the creative cuisine, but also the professional team ensure a unique experience.
The restaurant offers several parts that together form a unique whole. In summer, a terrace above the river surrounded by greenery and flowers attracts guests, in winter the heart of the establishment is an impressive winter garden with dominant living trees. The front part of the restaurant is carried out in the spirit of simple design, there are also lounge zones that complete the atmosphere of relaxed luxury. Thanks to the possibility of connecting all parts into one whole, SOHO is a popular place for social events and private celebrations.
The menu is based on seasonality and is constantly changing. In addition to the permanent menu, guests can find tasting and Japanese menus or four-course brunches. Thematic children's brunches with new items from the grill are also popular. The kitchen boasts its own meat ripening facilities from local suppliers of the Czech spotted cattle breed, which is still exceptional in the Czech Republic.
Chef Tomáš Mrvík is behind the kitchen, who started cooking as a child - first helping his mother, later trying more complex recipes and finding his way in the kitchen. He trained at the U Krbu secondary vocational school and completed his internship at the French restaurant in the Municipal House, where he learned to work with the highest quality ingredients from Czech and foreign chefs and acquired discipline and precision. He often cooked for presidents, state visits and world-famous personalities, including Barack Obama and George Bush.
Tomáš relies most on honest sauces, which he considers the heart of the kitchen, and pays attention to the careful selection of quality suppliers of meat and fish. “Food is more than a daily necessity for me. It is a moment when people meet and can indulge in well-being in a busy time. Whether I cook for guests, family or friends, I always try to give it my best,” says the chef.
SOHO is not just a restaurant, but a place where top gastronomy is combined with an atmosphere that invites you to sit for a longer time. Carefully selected wines, sparkling Champagne, original cocktails and a wide range of spirits are served with the meal. In the future, the team plans to raise its own cattle and grow fruit and vegetables in order to make the philosophy of sustainability even more pronounced.
