The Terasa U Zlaté studně restaurant is part of the luxurious Golden Well hotel and offers guests a unique experience in the form of top-notch gastronomy and an unforgettable view of the hundred-spired Prague. The roof terrace is one of the most beautiful in the metropolis and invites you to lunch, dinner or just sit with a glass of wine.
The interior was designed by Italian architects Lorenzo Carmellini and Katrin Herden, and the dominant feature is a wall covered in eighteen-carat gold leaf. The atmosphere is also enhanced by a bar with an exceptional menu - Terasa is one of the few restaurants in the world to have the title "Fortress of Louis XIII Cognac". The staff is specially trained to introduce guests to this unique cognac, a mixture of up to 1,200 distillates aged 40-100 years.
The kitchen focuses on working with the highest quality ingredients and their pure flavor. The signature dish is Wagyu A5 beef steak with black truffles, the wine list offers a wide selection of wines from around the world and prestigious vintages of Moët & Chandon champagne as part of the Moët Privilage Club. The uniqueness is also highlighted by the exclusive offer of Metaxa AEN, which cannot be tasted anywhere else in the world.
Chef Lukáš Hlaváček is behind the kitchen, who has been leading the Terasa U Zlaté studně team since January 2023. Cooking has accompanied him since childhood - part of his family comes from Slovakia, where the emphasis was on homemade products, the other part from Moravia with a strong tradition of slaughterhouses and wine. Even then, he became interested in food and cooking, which became his passion. He trained in Brno and immediately after school he joined the Alcron Hotel, where he gained his first experience under the guidance of Roman Paulus.
This was followed by a foreign stage – he worked in the London restaurants Seven Park Place (1* Michelin) and especially The Ledbury (2-3* Michelin), which gave him the most and taught him how a Michelin restaurant works, not only in terms of culinary but also operational aspects. He gained further experience in the American restaurant The Restaurant at Meadowood (3* Michelin). He also completed internships at the legendary The Fat Duck (3* Michelin). In 2020–2022, he was a chef at Alcron and then accepted the offer to lead Terasa U Zlaté studně.
Hlaváček believes in the philosophy of simplicity and authenticity. The main ingredient should always dominate the plate, the other components only complement and elevate it. “It is easy to create a complex dish, but it is difficult to make a simple dish perfect,” he says.
