Tomas Kohut
Triton Restaurant is one of the most unique gastronomic establishments in the Czech Republic. You can find it in the very heart of Prague, underground in Wenceslas Square under the Adria Hotel, where it is set in an Art Nouveau stalactite cave. This space full of sculptures and symbols creates a magical atmosphere that in itself promises an experience that goes beyond an ordinary dinner. Triton is a place where history blends with a modern concept of gastronomy and every visit becomes a cultural and culinary event. The kitchen is based on a bold approach, connecting classic techniques with processes in gastronomy that are still rarely used. The team led by chef Tomáš Kohút is not afraid to push the boundaries and bring original experiences. The goal is not just to fill the stomach, but to draw the guest into the story and awaken emotions and thoughts in him. Tomáš Kohút sees cooking as a language that can be used to tell a story without words - and each of his courses bears the imprint of personal authenticity. “I don’t serve food. I serve a piece of myself,” says the chef, who believes in fairness, originality and courage.
The highlight of the menu is a nine-course menu inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. It is conceived as a journey of self-discovery, where each course represents one of the nine sins. The guest thus becomes part of a scenario that combines tastes, aromas, visual composition and deeper meaning. The experience is more than culinary – it is a stage performance where all the senses intertwine and everything leads to a climax in the form of surprise and thought-provoking.
The restaurant’s uniqueness is also underlined by its work with wine and drinks. The sommelier carefully selects natural wines, classic European bottles and rare sake to support the nuances of the individual courses. The drink accompaniment is not just an addition, but part of the experience, which makes each dinner a harmonious whole.
Tomáš Kohút is one of the prominent figures of the young generation of Czech chefs. He gained essential experience at the Hotel Alcron in Prague, where he learned humility, respect and precise craftsmanship. He is inspired by traditional recipes and modern techniques, but above all by the people he works with. According to him, the most important thing is teamwork – the chemistry between all members of the kitchen, from the dishwasher to the chef de partie, because only thanks to it can a perfect result be created.
Triton is much more than just a restaurant. It is a space where art, gastronomy and human stories are interconnected. Guests leave not only full, but also enriched – with the feeling that they have entered another universe, at least for a moment. This is the true power of Triton: to turn dinner into a unique life experience.
